Gladstone Tennis Club is seeking an experienced Senior Coach to join our coaching team as part of an exciting phase of programme development and growth at one of Auckland’s leading community tennis clubs.

This role is ideal for a coach who enjoys delivering high-quality programmes across junior development, performance pathways, and adult coaching, and who remains actively connected to the competitive side of the game.

Overview

  • Position: Senior Coach

  • Location: Gladstone Tennis Club, Auckland

  • Pay rate: $55 per hour (flat rate)

  • Employment type: Contractor

  • Hours: 20–40 hours per week available (depending on availability)

  • Some evening and weekend work required

  • Start date: January 2026 (or negotiable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality junior group coaching, performance squad sessions, and adult group programmes

  • Provide private lessons as allocated

  • Run structured, engaging sessions aligned with the club’s coaching philosophy and player pathways

  • Support player progression into higher training and performance squads

  • Communicate professionally with players, parents, and the Head Coach

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, organisation, and on-court conduct

  • Operate in line with Tennis NZ policies, safeguarding requirements, and club expectations

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum DC Course qualification

  • 3+ years coaching experience

  • Confident running sessions independently, including larger groups

  • Actively competing, or capable of competing, at a strong club/interclub level

  • Interest in representing Gladstone Tennis Club and contributing to the Caro Reserve team

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Positive, solution-focused attitude with a strong work ethic

  • Holds a full NZ driver licence and has reliable transport

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand

JOB POSITION

Senior coach required to work at multiple locations in Auckland. Successful applicant will need a car and/or be flexible to coach at different clubs throughout the week.

COACHING / JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior coach will need to be confident and experienced to run all types of coaching (including large groups) either on an independent basis or with the help of a team of assistant coaches (private & group classes, juniors & adults, cardio tennis, in-school tennis etc).

Excellent communications skills (within the team and with the clients) is a must.

REQUIREMENTS

-Legal right to work in NZ and an updated police check will be required

-Experience as coach and as player, that can be passed onto students (adults & juniors)

-At least ITF level 1 or similar

PAY

Above market pay, on an hourly basis (between $50 and $65 depending on the class). This is a full-time role. However, candidates with a 20-30hs availability, may also be considered.

STARTING DATE / APPLICATION DEADLINE

 About the Role:

SEED Tennis is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Development Coach to join our team part-time at Te Atatū Tennis Club, with the potential for additional hours across our programs. The coach will be primarily responsible for delivering Hot Shots (Red, Orange, Green) sessions and beginner to intermediate level coaching.

Key Details:

  • Part-time position (with scope for more hours as demand grows)
  • Focused on Hot Shots & junior development
  • Based at Te Atatū Tennis Club, Auckland
  • Supportive team and great club environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JDC or higher (or international equivalent)
  • Experience coaching Hot Shots stages
  • Must already be residing in New Zealand
  • Positive, energetic, and good with kids

Ideal Start Time:
Mid-Term 3 or the beginning of Term 4. (From mid August)

Tennis One NZ, based at the beautiful Mission Bay Tennis Club, is seeking a passionate and experienced Junior Development Coach to join our dynamic team.

Key Requirements:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience coaching junior players, with a strong focus on development pathways.

- Proven ability to engage and inspire young players, fostering their love for the game while improving their technical and tactical skills.

- Strong communication skills to effectively connect with players, parents, and fellow coaching staff.

- Availability to work during after-school hours, weekends, and school holidays to accommodate junior coaching programs.

- A relevant coaching qualification and a current first aid certificate are preferred.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver high-quality coaching sessions tailored to junior players of varying skill levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.

- Assist in developing and implementing structured coaching plans aligned with Tennis One NZ's development philosophy.

- Actively contribute to junior tournaments, holiday programs, and club events.

- Provide mentorship and encouragement to junior players, helping them achieve their personal and competitive goals.

What We Offer:

- Minimum $27 per hour and Maximum $45 per hour with a minimum of 30 hours per week and maximum 40 hours per week.
