Waimairi Tennis Club is seeking to appoint a Head Coach to coordinate all coaching at the

Waimairi is the largest tennis club in Canterbury by membership with over 350 junior
members and 150 senior members. The club has three all-weather synthetic grass courts, and
four Rebound Ace flexible hard courts. Six courts have LED lighting. It is located in a central
suburb in Christchurch. The club fields 35 junior and 10 senior competition teams, as well as
premier men’s and women’s.
The position is a contract one responsible to the Club Manager, and works closely with the
Junior Administrator
The successful applicant will ideally hold an ITF Level 2 qualification or equivalent, have a
strong playing background, and be familiar with the latest national and international coaching
programmes and methods.
The duties of the Head Coach will include:
• coordinating all club group coaching programmes year round,
• supervising a team of 20 professional coaches,
• overseeing the standard of coaching delivered,
• carrying-out an extensive coaching programme in seven schools involving 2000
• delivering Tennis Xpress and Cardio senior coaching programmes
• introducing new coaching programmes
A retainer is payable for coach administration.
The on-court coaching pay rate is negotiable.
Hotshots equipment including balls, racquets, trollies, cones, nets, and throw down lines, is
provided by the club.
It is expected that the junior club programmes will provide an average of 15 hours per week
for 17 weeks in the summer.
Private coaching of members and non-members, a winter coaching programme, and school
holiday camps would be additional.
It is expected that the successful applicant will take up the position at the start of the summer
in August 2022

About the Role

Join Tennis Auckland’s venues coaching team at one of New Zealand’s best indoor/outdoor tennis facilities (Scarbro Tennis Center). Reporting to the Programmes & Player Pathway Manager – Tennis Auckland Region, you will divide your coaching week between private and group-based lessons.

  • 30 hours per week of professionally managed private coaching lessons, holiday camps and group-based lessons for both juniors and adults.
  • Ability to expand hours further if desired by applicant.

Both clubs are in the search for a senior club professional tennis coach, to be working at both clubs as well as some hours at a third club, Koru tennis club, all of them located in the Pakuranga/Howick area. The senior coach will be working alongside the head coach from each club.

Working hours will be split between all clubs (10mins apart) and will mostly consist of group classes as well as private coaching for all abilities & ages. Senior coach should have the experience & confidence to be running groups by him/herself and with assistant coaches, if the groups are big enough. Classes are planned in advance, and the new coach will need to deliver according to the head coach's feedback and standards.

We’re not looking for someone on a full time basis just yet heading into the winter/low-season terms, so the coach can also be working at other locations until he/she’s able to build own clients at the 3 venues.

West End Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1932 and is currently thriving as one of the largest tennis clubs in Auckland.

We are looking for two enthusiastic junior coaches to join our coaching programme at KLTC.

After a successful expansion last year our junior coaches have unfortunately moved away and need replacing.
Join our team and help us grow the clubs programme and meet the demand.
Our amazing head coach, Mareta, has built a highly popular junior programme at our club with approximately 50 juniors of various skills and ages participating.
We also have a casual senior programme that allows seniors who are either beginners or returning to the game to gain the confidence to join more club activities, get some fun exercise or just try us out.

- assisting with junior coaching sessions (primary role)
- currently these run on Wednesday and Thursdays from 3pm to approx. 6:45pm,

An opportunity has arisen for a Tennis Coach to join the Team at Cyperus Tennis + Fitness (CTF), based in Wellington central/west (home base Karori United Tennis Club). We are interested in hearing from Tennis Coaches who may be looking for more work.
