Coaches make your move to New Zealand!

Sunday, 06 August 2023

New Zealand is searching for experienced tennis coaches from around the world. There is currently a range of opportunities being advertised on our Coach Employment Page. Have a look at the opportunities and reach out to the contact listed if you have further questions.

We have compiled some information below which may assist in making your move to New Zealand. Please note that this is introductory information only and you should conduct your own research and/or seek advice from a professional such as a migration agent.

Working Holiday Visa

Working holiday visas are available to young people, usually aged 18 to 30, but 18 to 35 in a select few countries. They let you travel and work in New Zealand for up to 12 months. This visa will allow you to earn money and get some overseas work experience while you travel in New Zealand.

New Zealand has agreements with many countries around the world that allow young people to visit here and work while they travel. A Working Holiday Visa is valid for much longer than a Visitor Visa and also allows for study.

More information about obtaining a Working Holiday Visa can also be found on the newzealand.com site here.

Tennis NZ coach qualifications

All that is required to coach in NZ is to hold a qualification recognised by the International Tennis Federation, or upon arrival complete one of the Tennis NZ education courses.

Why New Zealand?

The beauty of the Working Holiday Visa is that you can work anywhere you like plus you can travel around the country while fitting in work. With a coaching labour shortage there are job opportunities at several clubs around NZ.

New Zealand offers a great work life balance and is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Information for employers

Are you a coach or club intending to employ a Working Holiday Visa holder?  Head to this Immigration NZ page for info for how to employ someone on a Working Holiday Visa.
