Tennis NZ Launch National Police Vetting Service

Monday, 19 June 2023

A safe tennis environment makes tennis more enjoyable for everyone, and as part of our Safe Tennis commitment, Tennis NZ has launched a National Police Vetting Service.

Police Vetting is one of the preventative safeguarding measures that reduces the risk of harm and abuse of children and vulnerable adults.

Tennis clubs, coaches, and organisations will all use this service to help make their environments even safer.

Everyone who works or volunteers with children and vulnerable adults in tennis will need to be police vetted. It is free of charge and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Police vetting is already common in many places such as schools, sports clubs, and childcare, and Tennis NZ have provided this service for certain roles for many years, but this is the first time police vetting will be required for all tennis volunteers or workers right around the country that have contact with children and vulnerable adults.
