Daniell and Oswald lose epic second round match at Wimbledon

 The last remaining New Zealand representative is out of the men’s doubles at Wimbledon.

Marcus Daniell and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald have lost an epic three set match Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Tomislav Brkic and Serbia’s Nikola Cacic.

In a match where Daniell and Oswald won two more points than their opponents, they succumbed 6-1 3-6 13-12, losing the tie break 8-6. The match took 2 hours and 52 minutes.

Daniell is still in the mixed doubles and plays with Canada’s Sharon Fichman. Fellow Kiwi Michael Venus and his partner Angel Chan have pulled out of the mixed doubles.
