Daniell beaten in Stuttgart but Rai reaches final in Monastir

Marcus Daniell and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald have been beaten in the doubles quarter finals at the ATP grass court tournament in Stuttgart. The fourth seeds have lost a tight quarter final in 1 hour 45 to Uruguay’s Ariel Behar and Ecuador’s Gonzalo Escobar 7-6 (5) 7-6. (5)

Daniell and Oswald will play the ATP 500 tournament at Queens in London next week. New Zealand number one Michael Venus will team up with German Tim Puetz for the first time at next week’s ATP tournament in Halle in Germany.

Ajeet Rai and his Australian doubles partner Jeremy Beale are through to the final at the $15,000 tournament in Monastir in Tunisia. Rai and Beale have beaten Eliakim Coulibaly and Guy Orly Iradukunda 6-1, 4-6, 10-5, in an hour and 13 minutes. Rai and Beale will face India’s Siddhant Banthia, and Korea’s Park Ui-sung in the final.
