Tennis NZ are pleased to announce they are hosting an International White Badge Chair and Referee School in March ahead of the World Tennis Tour in Timaru.

This is the first time that New Zealand has been a host for an international school and Tennis NZ are very excited to have four NZ National Chairs and one NZ National Referee accepted into the course.

The course has six referees and 16 chair umpires attending. Officials from all over the Asia-Pacific region will travel to Timaru for the five day course.

Tennis NZ Officials Coordinator Bronwyn Northgrave has been working closely with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is looking forward to rolling out the school and having more badged officials based in NZ.

It has been a busy summer with officials at World Tennis Tour events in Hamilton and Tauranga, the Davis Cup tie in Whangārei, ASB Classic, and ITF Junior and Regional events.

Notably, congratulations to New Zealand’s Melissa Rigby, Bronze Badge Chair Umpire for being selected to Chair Umpire the Australian Open Wheelchair Main Draw final.
