Hourigan notches up singles and doubles wins in Monastir

Paige Hourigan has made a strong start to this week’s ITF US $15,000 ITF tournament in Monastir in Tunisia. The top seed in both singles and doubles has cruised into the second round in both events.

The Kiwi number one has beaten American Emma Davis 6-4 6-2 in 1 hour 21 in her first-round singles match and will face Japan’s Rino Saigo in the second round tonight.

Hourigan and doubles partner Erika Sema have won their first-round match 6-3 6-0 in 43 minutes against Italian Giulia Crecenzi and Switzerland’s Nicole Gadient.

Hourigan will face Emma Davis again, the second round of the doubles with Canadian Stacey Fung the American’s partner.
