Routliffe and Dabrowski keep winning run alive in Monterrey

Erin Routliffe and Gaby Dabrowski have made quick work of their first round match in Monterrey, defeating the Russian duo of Irina Khromacheva and Kamilla Rakhimova 6-2 6-1.
Fresh from winning the title in Cincinnati last week, Routliffe and Dabrowski have squeezed in a quick trip to Mexico before heading to New York for the US Open.
They are the top seeds at this WTA 500 tournament and had little trouble getting past Khromacheva and Rakhimova, winning the match in just 50 minutes.
The Kiwi/ Canadian team converted all five of their break points they had in this match, while also won both of the deciding points.
Losing just three games makes this Routliffe and Dabrowski’s most convincing win since they defeated Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider by a similar scoreline in Doha in February. Coincidentally, Andreeva and Shnaider are also Russian.
In the quarterfinals, they play Linda Noskova, who knocked Lulu Sun out 7-6 7-6 in the singles, and Rebecca Sramkova.
If Routliffe and Dabrowski come through that match, it will extend their winning streak to six matches.
