New Zealand's Erin Routliffe and her Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski have won their second title as a team at the Zhengzhou Open WTA 500 event in China.

The pair only started playing together back in August and their first win as a team was a Grand Slam - the US Open in New York last month.

This weekend they picked up their second title together in Zhengzhou, beating Japan's Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara 6-2, 6-4 in the final.

Routliffe and Dabrowski were the tournament top seeds. At the start of last week, they were sitting 10th in the Race to the WTA Finals and will now move up and into contention for the final three spots at the season-ending championships in Cancun, Mexico.

They have won 12 of their last 15 matches and a few weeks ago made the final of the Guadalajara Open WTA 1000 event in Mexico.

Routliffe, who has now won five WTA doubles titles in her career, will also see her world doubles ranking improve from its current spot of 18, likely to a new career high.
