Sitak through to Marseille quarter finals

New Zealand doubles player Artem Sitak and French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin have saved three match points to reach the quarter finals at the ATP 250 tournament in Marseille in France.

They have beaten Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak and Italian Stefano Travaglia in a match tie-break. The 1 hour 42 minute encounter finished 5-7, 7-6 (5) 13-11.

Sitak and Roger-Vasselin will face Queenstown born Ben McLachlan who represents Japan and his South African partner Raven Klaasen for a place in the semi-finals.

Yesterday Michael Venus and his partner this week in Doha, Croatian Ivan Dodig lost their first round match 7-6 (4) 6-3 to Marton Fucsovics and Alexander Bublik. Venus moves on to Dubai where he will reunite with regular partner Tim Puetz for the ATP 500 tournament next week.
