We are pleased to announce that our Wāhine Coaching Scholarship has won the ITF Bronze Advantage All Award. The Advantage All Reward and Recognition programme was created to raise awareness of global best practice in promoting gender equality and to encourage more nations and regions to adopt gender equality related initiatives by rewarding and promoting best practice.

Tennis NZ is committed to increasing the number and capability of female tennis coaches and to influence a change in perception of the capability of female coaches in Aotearoa.  To achieve this aim, Tennis NZ created the Wāhine Coaching Scholarship to provide an opportunity for female coaches to access a scholarship to support their completion of the Tennis NZ Junior Development Coach qualification. Scholarship recipients will be appointed a female coaching mentor during the completion of their studies and have additional opportunities to access professional development in a range of tennis industry areas e.g competition delivery, officiation, volunteer development or performance coaching.

Recipients of the Bronze Award receive:
• $3,000 monetary contribution towards future gender equality related initiatives or projects, as proposed in the application
• Feature on the project or initiative in ITF and Advantage All communications and promotion as best practice case studies
• Announced and recognised at the ITF AGM 2023 in September
