New Zealand ATP doubles player Marcus Daniell has prolonged the end of his season. Daniell and Brazilian partner Marcelo Demoliner have reached the quarter finals at the ATP 250 tournament in St Petersburg by knocking out the third seeds.

They have beaten Marcelo Arevalo and Matwe Middelkoop 3-6, 7-5 10-7 in an hour and 30 minutes. Daniell and Demoliner were able to convert two of their six break point chances in the match and saved three of five against their serve. Both teams won the exact number of points in the match, 69 each, illustrating the closeness of the contest.

Daniell and Demoliner face a tough quarter final against hard hitting singles players, Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.
