Venus, Routliffe both battle showers for Wimbledon wins

Michael Venus and Neal Skupski have extended their winning streak to 10 matches following their second-round win over the Australian pairing of Ricky Hijikata and John Peers on Sunday at Wimbledon.
Erin Routliffe and Gabby Dabrowski also won their second-round match in the ladies doubles, with both of these matches happening at the same time as Lulu Sun was lighting up Centre Court with her historic victory over Emma Raducanu.
Unlike Sun, Venus and Routliffe, along with their partners had to battle with the constant showers that hit South West London on Sunday, but thankfully they both got through their matches and were on the winning sides.
Venus and Skupski played their match in front of a packed-out No 3 court and won a tight match 6-4 6-7(5) 6-4 and in the third round, they will play the All-American team of Chris Eubanks and Evan King.
Meanwhile on Court 18, Routliffe and Dabrowski, who are the No 2 seeds, also had a tough battle in their win over the Russian duo of Irina Khronacheva and Kamilla Rakhimova, but came through 7-6(4) 3-6 7-5.
In their third round match, they will face Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine and Romania’s Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
